My Experiment with Gypsymasala
This is something really interesting! I met Tim Andrew ( a fine Flamenco player from Perth, Australia) eight years ago who happened to teach my friend Max from Canada. We clicked instantly and became great friends. I formed the band Gypsymasala with Tim and Anthony Lindhjem who used to play bass with Tim's band Tierra.
It was a great musical journey for all of us and especially me. I fell in love with Bulerias and it became a part of me. We played extensively in Western Australia and also went for a concert in India in Jorhat (Assam).
Recently we did a gig in KULCHA, Fremantle Western Australia

DrBora's Electronica Experiment Fusion
Hello All
Please welcome to my blog! To start with I am hosting this to keep people updated about what I have been doing over the past years in the music scene. To say the least I have been experimenting with all sorts of genres. Of particular interest are Jazz, Flamenco, Indian, Fusion and above all my own experimental electronica. I have been toying with loops, samples and also creating my own brand (Please see www.myspace.com/drbora) for a sample!
A little resume about my musical background:
I am trained in the Indian drums called the Tabla in the Lucknow style. I also play the Assamese Khol, Dholak and other drums (such as the all popular kits, congos and bongos). I started the Tabla since a very young age and have been actively pursuing my passion by playing with a variety of musical genres -which started from traditional and folk Indian to more modern Jazz and Rock. Lately I have been mesmerised by the electronica experimentation.
